Properties under threat in the National Park

It’s not just the National Park they are targeting. I received a demolition order for 91m square meters of my house last week. Needless to say the fight is on

If you mean the houses on Sabufara (spelling) on the left on the way to Es Grau, friends of ours bought there about twenty years ago and were told this would happen in about thirty years, they since sold it but it was known they would go years ago, where the government will get the money from for surely they would have to buy them back ?

The govt plan to cover the cost of demolition from the Eco-tax - there is no mention of financial restitution as those who bought the properties there would have been aware during the buying process that the property was illegal. The saying 'buyer beware' was never truer than in this case. The original owners bought their property from the developer some 30 years ago in the knowledge that they were illegal and all subsequent sales passed on that liability. Due diligence by solicitors during the buying process would have thrown up the issue but many people bought their properties well under the market value, surely some indication of the problem. I doubt there will be any compensation unless current owners intend to taker action against their buying solicitor or the seller (if they were not told of the problem). Terrible for all concerned.

Is the "two months" deadline for 3 properties, mentioned in the article, from now or from 2038? Anyone know? If the latter is the case, that would cause a lot of disturbance to Winter species that use the S'Albufera.
